How do you replace a Bravo 1 Trim Pump

I have a 2006 Bravo 1 and the trim pump is a 1990 (I installed a new drive unit).
The trim pump is tired and making squeeling noises when lowering and was just flat cutting out last weekend at SeaFair. I am just going to replace it. It looks like a pretty straight forward swap out.
Any tips?? Should the drive be down when undoing the two hydraulic lines to the pump. Will it be under pressure and messy? How about re filling the system with trim fluid and bleeding ect.
Any pitfalls to avoid?? Any help would be appreciated to save labor costs.

Drive should be down, Battery disconnected pretty much just a swap-out. Dont forget to bleed the system.

Aren't they self bleeding. I thought that's what the manual said. It stated to make sure the vent hole in the cap is clear to avoid pressure build up.

Im pretty sure thier designed to be self bleedind. Simply move it through its full cycle. May take more than one time to bleed all the air. Then recheck for any leaks and fluid level.

They are indeed self bleeding. Hook up the new one, cycle it a few times, head for the lake...
