..never have a problem with either phone, both are Verizon...the code needs to match the code you put in the phone to sync with that phone. I use a different one for each

What series. It depends on the vehicle. if it is a 3 series, the pass code is in the owners manual. must pair phone to it. If you have a 5-6-7, then you should be able to pick the #, most use 0000. just go into the i-drive and put in the # and then put that # in the phone.
    There ya go right there........
    .
Also, there are specific phones that will function with all the capabilities, check BMWUSA.com for the list of compatible phones for each carrier. Other phones might synch up but not all the features may work....

Ahhh BMW bluetooth, if that doesn't make you want to scream.
I can't help you if you have an i-drive, but here's what I experienced with my M3. The car had a card in the glove box that had the 4 digit pin. I was able to get my Verizon Treo 700 to pair, but only for a short while and all the funtions did not work. Then it stopped working all together. Took the car in to the dealer and they replaced my Bluetooth module and gave me a new 4 digit number. I bailed on the Treo 700 and went with a Motorola E815 (on the approved BMW list) it paired great and has worked fantastic ever since.
Bottom line, it may or may not work with a phone that is not on the list. Keep in mind that a Treo 650 from Sprint is different from a Treo 650 from Verizon, so just be cause you have phone xxx it might not work. The second most important piece is you need the 4 digit code. Mine was in the glove box and on a card the size of a business card. If you don't have it, your dealer might be able to retreive the number; of couse be ready to $hell out $ome coin.
    Good luck.

Which Nextel Phone do you have?
I use my i870 in my 750li everyday, I just don't have my contact list, I have to manually dial numbers.

t works, and I think that im really going to like it. all of the numbers from my phone are now in the car as well. the clarity of the phone calls are better than my phone. I went to the dealership and they hooked it up to a computer and got the code for me. they also walked me through the setup. was actually pretty simple. I need one of these systems in my boat.
