I have a couple properties with HOA's and its fine if you know what you are getting into. I personally do not live in one but I have in the past and my vacation home has one. The problem is when people do not Read the CC&R's to find out what they can and can't do BEFORE they buy in a community. You are given a copy before escrow closes, you should read it. Yea I know its boring and dry but it may just save you from a big mistake down the road.
