Why not build a spacer or bracket to mount to the floor to bring the shifter closer to you??
In my day cruiser I sit up pretty high in the seat and I wanna install a diverter . So I think the floor mount is out . I know "hydraulic" but I'd rather not . Any suggestions.

Not a bad Idea on the left side . I'm not used to having room to walk around in so I'd like to keep the "path of travel" clear.

I've had a couple elec ones that were ok.
Should be easy to make and save some money.

I don't mean mounting at the pump. The idea is to use a linear actuator to drive the cable.
looks like a "great" can crusher to me!! LMAO
