    Yeah, I was the other guy on Jordy's boat - the one that kept going swimming for shit I'd drop in the lake. LOL
    The boat has a pair of Evolution Marine modded Johnson V8's.
    Are You planning on Mohave Oct 6/7/8 ???

    Unfortunately, no. I've had some not-so-good luck with the boat since I got it...spun a top bearing carrier (that holds the timing stator) in Havasu about 2 months ago. After fixing that, found out the timing going screwy cost me a burnt piston. Got that all fixed and broke a gearcase over Labor Day. Just haven't got it back together yet.

    Tom an stv,mirage and rapid crafts are all mod vp hulls just like the stoker same class.
    I guess I'm just a dumb shit but I've had a look at both hulls and they don't look quite the same to me. :idea:
    Let's have a look at a Stoker:

    Now let's have a look at an STV:
    http://www.stvowners.com/forum/uploa...1037827602.jpg
    I can't quite put my finger on it.... it's..... oh.... I think I see something... there seems to be some prongs sticking out the front of the STV. WTF is up with that? http://www.CarlsonSpeed.com/~tombrown/eh.gif
    Now.... I recall browsing a fluid dynamics article in Popular Science one time that said some things that lead me to suspect the hull with forks will have higher tunnel inlet pressure than the hull without forks. That seems reasonable, doesn't it.
    ....... so... .. further speculation from these pseudo-random musings leads me to wonder if the STV type hull will be more efficient than the Stoker type hull at lower speeds..... say, speeds under 80 or 90 mph. I don't know this... only suspect it.
    ..... at the same time, I suspect what looks like an aerodynamically cleaner profile of the Stoker might be advantageous at high speeds..... say, speeds over 120 mph. Again... just some random speculation.
    ....... so I'm no genius but I know that if a hen has a cock... that makes it a rooster and a rooster isn't exactly the same as a hen. They may look pretty similar, but sometimes subtle differences are significant. I'll bet when the farmer is gone, hens stick their toes up the rooster's ass and massage the rooster's prostate until he cums. Then the rooster takes a 6 pack of Colt 45 malt liquor and puts on some Billy Dee Williams funk..... oh yeah, boats......
    Hey Keith, beautiful Scarab. Great OMC V8s. You must have a ton of fukkin' money for boat gas. lol!

    Many factors come into play Tom.

    sorry dog
    I always thought
    Mod Vp = center pod; 2 small tunnels
    Tunnel = 2 side pods; 1 big tunnel
    Rooster = loud chicken
    Chicken = Casserole
    ...but then again I heard some people eat snakes so who knows.

    I guess that's one of those factors that comes into play. :idea:
    I'm not trying to suggest pickle forks are bad for high speed because it's obvious they're running at amazing speeds. It's not entirely intuitive to me, though.
    BTW, from what I can tell, some of these little forked tunnels are a Mod-Vp at the back and a tunnel at the front. Look at that STV. Imagine how much air must pack between those forks at high speed. Sure, the outlet at the back is a mod-VP but at the front, it's pretty much a tunnel to my eye.

    does anyone have some photos of the bottom of these hulls?
