Does anyone use the torque converter on a v-drive set up? I`ve set 2 of these up in the past and I used a TCI adapter but someone told me that the converter would only require more fluid and would work fine. anyone got any input? RCM

A torque converter will work but you will have converter slip along with prop slip and more heat. Since you're never planted to a solid surface like in a car, it don't make sense to use a converter and also you will have to use that much more oil!...

GFR they make a hollow converter for pump driving only, they are heavy when full

Yep, but you can eliminate that with one of these!..

I have used the Hughes "converter eliminator" mentioned above by GFR and it worked flawlessly.

My Schiada has a converter. Im not sure if its a welded one or not. It works great so far.

Dan, either one works fine, it's just that you don't have all that extra oil with the "Hughes". That means less oil to cool!..
