This was taken in 1985 at the Phoenix world finals. This was a Sanger factory TFH.
I think Bob Mcintire was the owner/driver.

The 72 Sanger Runnerbottom I now own, when it was my dads race boat.Injected 427 chev.
Boater Bill or superlite. Do you remember Citation 1 & 2 owned and driven by Renee' Andre' (Maddox). The motor that put Renee upside down also put Ray Caselli and Panic mouse in the weeds and beyond. Or the Mortician with inline small blocks that was towed by a hearse. I think he was killed at parris. The 60's and 70's had some colerful drivers in a very dangerous sport with very little payback except bragging rights.
Everyone - great pics, they bring back fond memories and I remember most of the boats shown/mentioned. Panic Mouse always kicked butt, I saw (I think) the first 200mph run in drag boats by Mr. Ed. This was a charger hull also I believe. Conquest, Citation, and the others I remember also. Thunder you're right, back then they ran for nuthin' but braggin rights basicly. I remember once at Long Beach these BFH guys we were hanging with were po'd that they had lost on a red light in eliminations and there was a lot of talk flying. A grudge match was set up (money on the line) and these guys went out and fireballed the motor but drove it through the lights and beat em! They were so jazzed, didn't care that they probably spent 5 X the $ they won on the bet. Whens the last time you saw a grudge match? Good times!
