Here's some info on these photo's, my dad Andy was there that day. After discussing these photo's together WE came up with this..................... Information will be based on from top to bottom. Top will be #1 and so forth.
#1. Miss Valvoline was Skip Volk and he made the Casale decals on the side of this classic. If anybody has a better pic. let me know. Need to get some made. He obviously was Casale sponsored.
#3. Red & White boat. It had a single overhead cam FORD and Gordon Cooper the Austronaut drove it.
#4. Was the Glastron Factory boat. Owned and driven by both brothers.
    #5. Red Adair's boat is a Mandella.
#8 "The Viking Spirit" #62 Bob Nordskog built it himself and was the only
person to drive 9 hours straight without a relief driver.
    Super Accomplishment!!!
#14,15,16,17 "Rawhide" #99, Single seater, guys in orange crew suits. The guy on right back standing is Carson Brummett and infront on knees leaning over boat inside is Dad Lou Brummett. This boat was in an Elvis Presly movie.
#20. Jimmy Gaskins of Gaskins Marine in Red suit #D-3.
#21,22,23. Howard Brown in white hat. "How Boat That"!
*All these boats used a 12*Casale split case.

#3. Red & White boat. It had a single overhead cam FORD and Gordon Cooper the Austronaut drove it.
Was this a Raysoncraft GN v-hull or a flattie? Had the marathon tanks in it, I see. That SOHC is SOHCool.
#20. Jimmy Gaskins of Gaskins Marine in Red suit #D-3.
That's a photo of a young Jimmy, for sure. What kind of hull was that, and can anybody tell us about the class he was racing in? He was the Raysoncraft dealer in this area, and rigged both my Raysons originally.
Mitch, does your dad have any anecdotal stories about Jimmy? I'd love to hear more about his life. Died several years ago from lung cancer.
