Balancer clearence

O.k.,
I'm running a Enderle front cover with a River Rat water pump and a Hillborn inj.pump bolted up to that on a BBC.The problem is I don't have much clearence between the water pump and the balancer,only about .010".Balancer is your standard 8".The water pump has been clearaced so much that it leaked.I have taken care of that.Any ideas to get more clearance there.I ran it last season and it rubbed sometimes.Thanks,Rat

What about a smaller blancer?
I think ATI makes some that are a hair over 7"

Yup ATI balancer will clear the pump but if you have the Enderle extension it will hit it and the extension needs to be clearanced. I have a Tci timing pointer that had to clearanced to the balancer also.

I can get a 7'' balancer for a exteraly balanced 454...cool! Thanks

save urself a ton of $$$...just chuck it in a lathe & shave off enough material to clear...prob about 1/4"-1/2"...just my .02 cents

Won't trimming it change the the balancing of it?

I had the rotating assmy. balanced with this balancer.Will changing balancers change that.Thanks for everyones reply.

Well maybe, maybe not??, depends on the whole package, I've changed balancers before with no problems, then again I've had a bunch of mismatched parts balanced and tried a different balancer and it shook like hell!...
