Thread: 1971 Vega Big Block Pro Street Wagon

    I have decided to sell my project car, which currently has a non-op CA registration on it. Original 1971 Vega Wagon, NEW mild 396 pump gas engine, CSR electric water pump, MSD crank trigger ignition, 750 Demon carb, turbo 350 trans with 2800 stall, Winters shifter, full chassis, full roll cage, 2 Jazz aluminum seats, Dana 60 rear end with 4.88 gears, wheelie bars, original tilt fiberglass front end, lexan windows, Centerline wheels, DOT legal slicks.

    I want $12,800 for it, running condition, new engine has about 30 miles ( guess only, no odometer). It's really more of a race car than for the street, but draws plenty of looks. Paint is original, so it could stand to be repainted, or left alone for nostalgia look. I do have a real Vega grille that could be put into the glass front end, and new race belts are not yet installed.

    Nope. This car was originally built when it only had 2000 miles on it, by Williams Chassis in La Verne, just above the Pomona drag strip. When I bought the car I phoned them, and then stopped by to visit. They still had the front mount plate for a small block sitting there, and a photo on the wall. Apparently this car did a fair amount of street racing down here also, and is somewhat notorius.
