Could it be that you mean the 1075SCi Merc Motors?
They also make 850's which are essentially the same but
with less cam and boost etc. Both are twin whippled.

Thanks for the input, the motor I'm looking at is thought to be a 975 sc carb motor that was built by Merc racing. I have looked at what they offer now. I don't know what year this motor was built and was trying to findout what It is w/o taking it apart. It appers tobe fresh. very clean, Rod and mains have little to no wear on them.
    Thanks agin Boe

Carbed SCs were awhile ago, the 975 number sure doesn't ring a bell.

    The 900's were carbed.
Merc is pretty tight with their recipes.

Maybe it was a "limited" version for poker runners or something where they took a 900 and added some more porting, cam and boost? Or, I seem to recall an old 1200SC (?) that maybe the de-tuned? Just guessing.

Here is an old ad for a boat for sale that had 975's:
I have a 2000 37' Stiletto with 900 Sc's updated to 975's and SSM VI's. Completely redone the boat and just don't have time to use. In So. Cal.
So, yes, sounds like a mod to 900's.

I am going to put it in just like it is as soon as my blower gets back and get it dynoed to set the Efi.
And I think you guys are right about a 900sc w/ a up grade.
