A Merc package like that has to have a rating on it somewhere online.
A seller and I are at odds. He doesnt know his HP rating. What he thinks and what I believe is a differance of almost 4k in price of the boat.
1998 mercruiser v8 7.4 mpi
I'm thinking its HP is listed at 330 according to this site http://www.perfprotech.com/home/tech...eplacement.htm
He thinks it's over 350hp
I'm a novice at this stuff.
Thanks in advance for the help.

So don't buy it!
I found a site that said 310 pshp.
your saying 330 hp and the seller is saying its 350 hp.. and the 20 hp will make a $4000 difference in the price? if he wants to argue, then let him keep it. there are alot more boats for sale.
That one is a 310HP 454.. They also had another one (like the one that was in my old boat that was 385HP)

yeah.. its more about the NADA guide.. they are pricing boats with 300-350hp 4k less then 351-400hp

It's a buyers market right now for sure. NADA don't mean yadda.

If he is saying 350 that still fits into the 300-350 category as far as I'm concerned.
