Before I buy this blower from this guy for 2000.00.Is it a good deal?Suppose to have telfon striped lobes, it is a littlefield 6-71, no pits in rotors, come off a drag boat.I am going to be putting it on a mild 454 in a 2200 LB model a .The pulley combo with it is at 12lbs of boost.Way to much for my project.Gonna change the pulleys out.My questions are how much boost do I need to run for a 454 street engine.I have not bought the pistons yet. Also what do I look for(problems) on this blower before I purchase. Is 2000.00 a good deal?Is this intake a boat intake or a street intake.A whole new game for me.First blower motor. Here are some picks.

you would be suprised at what 4 lbs of boost will do for torque and hp.a friend of mine runs a 671 on his 22 ft eliminator daycruiser and it will run 85 mph, very heavy boat,he is running about 4 pounds of boost.

marty, its a ugly blower but the clearences are still tight and rotors are perfect.he tried to make it polished(its was cast), looks good from a distance.i think a good alum polishing will make it look alot more presentable.but for the price, i'd could give a shiat what it looks like, just how it works.he sent it off to bds for a overhaul in march 06, ran it last season, hit it big at casino and bought hisself a brand new bds 8-71 kit.he's an azzhole, but he needs my help alot on his tx-20, and he gives me stuff all the time, so i put up with him

I am pretty sure that the carb manifold shown is for Dominators only... Do not know if you planned to run dominators

Keep in mind too, teflon will wear and after a bit the clearances will be about same as a street blower.

save up 700 more and buy a new 8-71 kit, i've seen some weaind kits for 2600 with free delivery on ebay. lots of guys around me run weaind blowers without any trouble, look nice, and i've got buddies runnin 13-14lbs for the last decade without havin a double key'd crank, or shearing bolts.they just run a good hardened key and check their pulley bolt torque regularly.reliable blower motors live long with regular maintence and proper clearences!
