Just pulled from my first mold. Going to add a lip on the front and make the sealing surface nice and square. The seam will be done very nicely soon, but I thought I'd put a pic up to see what you guys think. Its not a really big scoop but fits over the 4 hole Hilborn beautifully and wont hit the holding rope everytime(I hope). This one is light....now back outside to make more stuff and get this looking better...

That looks cool. Looks like some of the ones I see on the NHRA dragsters.
Hey, could you make me some fork guards?? They are pretty simple parts.
I think I could sell some for sure.
Here is a few pics. Not real good ones as I was not trying to get pics of just the guards.

Superdave, Thanks. I cant tell if those are shaped like a tube or half-circle. If they are tubes, take a look at the fork guards and tell me if you see a seam running long ways down each side. If those are tubes, I suspect they are made with a filamint winder.

kurtis500 let me know if you are going to make anymore? Yes, I'm working on the mold right now. I should have another part out by Sunday. This one will be a little different. wink
I made the scoop specifically for the 4-port Hilborn. I know the base is just a bit wider than the standard Holley carb. Not sure about the length, but it may fit a 2x4 intake (non-Dominator). My other boat will be here tommorow and I plan on checking that.
The scoop here is actually built the same as most all the others. A layer of carbon backed by glass. Though I wont be doing much of this later. Thats how I did this test part, in fact I wasnt going to use carbon at all. These scoops take-up A LOT of material.

Heres a better picture I think. The light reflection makes it look a little different.
