What l/u ratio do you have? 2:1?
I Was Told Its A 1.87 Ratio And Tach Is Dead On, So Whats The Deal. Boat Is A 1988 Laveycraft Sebring With A 2.4 Xri With Efi On Jackplate With Aftermarket Nose Cone
Something is off, or you have the world fastest 88 lavey.
do you have any ideas, prop was checked and is 30 pitch with solid hub
What rpm? And what tach is it?
can turn motor past 7 grand if you let it, its a new merc. tach checked it verse another one with a gps, tach was in boat when bought
7K - 1.87:1 - 30" @10% = 98.90
7K - 2:1 - 30" @10% = 92.47
You have 2:1 or your tach is off, or both.
I would rather spin a smaller pitch wheel and a big gear. The paddle-wheel effect isn't as bad.
Why don't you tell us what the gps says and also what kind it is. I personally don't think that combo will trun a 30 @ 7k+ BUT I was wrong once!
