what is the best way to cool the engine and where can i get the fittings? i have a jet and it has that valve that will pump water to the engine. (pics would be awesome)
also if any one has a manual place diverter controller i need to buy one!
thanks, dylan
On a motor that has exhaust logs, the water comes from the pump and goes to a "T" fitting. Both ends of the T fitting run to the logs first. Then they run out of the logs and into the motor. The water exits through the thermostat housing and runs down to the exhaust risers, then dumps out of the boat via the risers.
On a motor with OT headers, the ends of the T run straight into the motor. The water exits through two holes in the thermostat housing. One of them goes to an overboard dump, while the other one goes to a gate valve. The gate valve feeds the Bassett "T Valve", which splits off to the header water injection manifolds.
You can get pipe fittings at any hardware store.
