K I got a question. On a 383 BB can you swap the heads for 440 heads? And if so do you still run a 383bb intake or a 440bb intake? Got a blower setup complete with carbs scoop and everything for $1200bones and all I have runnin for the momment is 383. Thanks

All the heads will interchange, it is the deck height between the blocks, "B" for 383 400, "RB" raised block for the 440 stuff.
You will have to run the 383 intake on the 383.

    Yea what he said.
Distributors, intake manifolds, and oil pump drives are the few differences.

or if you ran stage vi mopar heads on a 383 you would use a 440 intake but on a 440 you have to run spacers to run a 440 intake.

And on a side note ..... What was the first B block and what movie featured a car with it in it? For extra points, what were the only 2 types of fuel delivery system available?

    Got to be "Christine".
As far as fuel delivery, wasn't Chrysler (briefly) trying out fuel injection back about that time?

Wow ... I'm impressed. Right on the CI and the Movie. And if you can dig up an old 1958 Chilton Manual, it will list the 350 B block for the Savoy model Plymouth with either dual quads, (WCFB Carters), or Electronic Fuel Injection. Needless to say all the FI cars got recalled and replaced with carbs.
