Lol...yeah the ramp down the street from my house got pretty crowded here this weekend too. When I went to launch 3 of the 4 lanes were actually in use at the same time. And there were actually more than 10 parking spaces in use too!
Here's how my ramp usually looks:

Rather be here, pull in, launch, walk 30 feet, park, 30 feet back to boat and off you go...

As a transplanted west coast boater I can tell you some of the differences:
Out east (TN and SC) the lakes are a lot less crowded and you have more options. The boats are generally from national builders like Sea Ray, Regal and Cobalt. Rarely will you see a Lavey, Howard or Hallett. However, there are now DCB, Eliminator and Advantage dealers out here.
You also see A LOT of Baja's. You will also see a few Formula's and Fountains.
The scenery is generally green with lots of trees. You can always find some calm water to ski. Oh yeah, we have jet skis and bass boats.
I have to fly back to Havasu at least once or twice a year to get my "fix".

YES!! Its called a radio controlled boat and bath tub. Besides, the off season gives us something to look forward to.

Arent East Coast lakes full of poisonous snakes?
My mom lives in Arkansas and she took me out on their boat in Bullshoals. One of her friends made a comment about leeches and I discovered I was incapable of jumping in the water. Weird how that works
