That's funny! If you're driving they won't get you in the car... They aren't that bad either, they actually aren't biting they are spitting up and the feeling you get is the acid in their puke...isn't that nice! If you do get out of the vehicle for any amount of time I suggest Skin so Soft by Avon. We use it at the park for the cats and we also spray it on ourselves...
Good luck and enjoy Texas...watch your speed, I've been here 3 yrs and have 4 tickets, 3 of which were driving from California....
We'll be driving through the I 40 thru Texas in a week and had heard their are certain times to not drive due to " Biting Black Flies ".
Is this correct or non-sense, and what times are best to stay off the road?
Appreciate your take.

We visited the Corvette factory in Musclecar Town this past week, and on to Tige' in Texas next week.
All this way across the U.S. and only one dam fire fly for the kids to see at our campsite.
Hell,, the only fire fly in the whole damn campground.

The authorities need to issue more deer tags,, the herds need to be thinned.
Highways across the country are full of hit carcassas along the roadside.
Hazard to motorcyclists for sure.
Never seen so many.
We missed several by dumb luck.

Thanks for any Texas driving tips.
