Thread: Bravo one has too much side to side play

    If you do not have experience with outdrives, I would suggest paying to have it done. As I remember the book calls for 8 hours.(coffie breaks included) This is memory only, I think the ring is around $700 the bolt $50. and the rest being labor. If you have it down this far you would want to replace the drive bellows also. Good luck.
    P.S. Tighting down the bolt will not fix your problem. I have never heard of anyone losing steering. I have lived the experience good luck..

    I have seen someone loose steering and it was not preaty! There is only one way to learn, just go for it and buy a manual... wink

    Well I cleaned the threads and got new Ubolt nuts. I tightened it up 5lb at a time up to 60lb ft. It is solid as a rock now.
