What's everyone think about the new drive? It looks pretty cool and the whole set-up looks very strong. The website says its set up for 600 to 800 hp, and up to 800 ft lbs.

I noticed it on their website last week. If I was building a new boat today (or my boat again), I would have gone with the new 700s and that ACE drive. Looks like a cool drive and it is 200 pounds lighter than the #6.
2 years from now though, I am going with #6s and at least 850s on my next boat build.

what about the new Imco 1000? that could hold anything your gonna throw at it. unless you get those 1300 sterlings stuffed in there....just go big, so you dont need to do this again in a few months

Looked at it closley on friday in Miami. I might have a few pictures. Top looks like a 6, bottom a cross between a 6 and a Bravo. Talked to Merc rep, says it will hang at 800hp. Retails 82 G, good guy deal 66 G. Just get a 6 and be done with it. They ran a 39 MTI in Miami with a pair and it ran in the 130s. Pretty cool package, I like the looks back at black.

82k is the 525 package, they told me it would be a year beafore they would split the package up. Might as well buy a #6 though, it seems to cost less.

Nope, not when you see the "Rebuild" requirements on the 850's and 1075's !!
