Going to run my 24 twin 225 promax Skater on the 26th with 6 new inches of set back. eek! Guess how much faster and I'll post the results on the 30th. Adding 6"'s huh??? Wife must be happy!
Ill bet you get to 80! wink
Do Skaters need a lot of setback? I would have thought that with two engines, they wouldn't need a lot. You didn't say what you have now or what you are going to.
I don't know anything about Skaters so I'm interested in setup details. I look forward to your postings on the 30th.

I am guessing 3-4Mph faster.
mbrown2:
I am guessing 3-4Mph faster. I would have to say that mbrown2 is going to be the closest.Although I would like it to be 8mph.Motors are bolted to the transem now.Yes the 24 Skater needs set back.I was at 101 to 102mph and now if I see 105 I'll be stoked.
I would agree with the 3 to 4 mph. I just changed a customers 28 skater with 300x from transom to 6inch and he gained 6 to 7mph. Can't wait to hear, good luck and cross your fingers for the 8.
Quick question for everyone. Has anyone tried spacing their prop further back on the propshaft? In other words, put in an extra thrust washer to get the prop further back on the shaft?
I am not going to machine a nut in half, but I think I might try putting an extra thrust washer in because I have enough room to do that without having to machine a nut. Just want to see what MPH I pick up.
I am going to buy a GPS this spring, so I thought I would try this. Any thoughts?
im guessing 6 mph.
