    Question for Boatcop maybe......
How many accidents have occured this season up to date compared to other seasons? Hearing about deaths on here is always a saddening thing, and I'm in no way trying to downplay the impact they have on people and boaters in general. I guess the question is, has this boating season been worse as far as accidents on the river?
If I remember correctly it was 2003 or 2004 and there was an abundant amount of deaths on the lower river and Lake Havasu, I think there were approx. 11 or more deaths that year it was the worst I can remember! NSF

Isn't that automatically added to the story anytime anything happens with a boat in Havasu???
it seems to be in every accident reported by the paper. i think speculation by a paper is unprofessional and unethical. but i wouldn't bet my money that even 10% of the accidents didn't involve alcohol. i would bet my money in all 2 party involved accidents. alcohol is involved with at least 1 driver out there.
this assumption the paper does on alcohol kinda reminds me of a few years ago, that every boat sank out in havasu was a cheetah. we all know that wasn't true.
the paper should not be printing that statement of alcohol. tell it knows 100% it is damaging know matter what.

I wont start another "hate lake lice" thread here but maybe some of these crashes are the result of their careless manuvers and then they go on their merry way:idea: Example: yesterday coming from upriver on a non crowded day (yeah, odd huh?) i was following about 5 or 6 PWC's that were doing the usual spinouts and circles
Any way not to hijack but maybe these latest crashes are the result of this kind of thing becoming so rampant on the river and lake????????? Just a thought NSF
WELL SAID, the first rule of safe boating is,
    BOAT IN A PREDICTABLE MANNER!!!
they need to start writ'n tickets for those reckless bastards!!!
    and yes I hate em.
Next un writ'n law for the river, stay to the right, pass on the left
and look over your shoulder before you change course!!!!
jackass's run down the middle of a crowded river in boats go'n 20
and jet ski's running 5 across like runn'n of the bulls need a ticket!!!
oh and what year or color was the Schiada if not post'n a picture
    hope it wasn't this one

Why do people feel the need to drive so fast with others on board?
I don't know, maybe we should ask Kilrtoy.

They either had no idea I was coming up on them or they just didnt care, I dont get it, if I was on a boat that weighed what 700lbs or so and 5000 lb boats were driving all around me i would take care to not get run over.

I can agree with this, as many others have...ive been a passanger in a boat and had a waverunner hit us because he was doing a donut/spin out...and came out of it at a high rate of speed and didnt check his blind spot. He had a young child on the back of it. the guy didnt even stop. He made a B-Line up river and never looked back, never stopped to see if his kid was ok. We stopped to see if there was damage done to our boat and then headed up river to find him....he was long gone. This happened just above the Avi.

I WILL NOT BOAT UP BY THE CASINOS BECAUSE OF THE LICE, PERIOD. Everytime we go up to Laughlin or the Avi and we cross the river, all I see are the little irritating bastards just running rampant. The worst part is that most are rentals and that just makes then all the more stupid. Of course this is just my opinion NSF
