Thread: Grand Canyon info

    We will be going to the Grand Canyon in mid August.
    Has anyone taken the 2 1/2 hour train ride in? If so, what can you see & do when you get there? Is there a better option than the train?
    Also,Best Hotel for kids 13,11,6?

    Great Trip 1800thetrain You can get a package ( If there are any avail) spend the night in Williams @ the Hotel /Train Station Breakfast in the Morn Jump on the Train @ 9:00 Am get to the G.C. Main Lodge We had rooms for 2 nites but they have 1 nite stays Hiked Around Had a Blast then Train Ride back to Wiliams...VERY COOL TRIP

    Thanks to everyones advise on this board, we took the train up and back and stayed in Williams at the trains hotel! It was a great trip

    If you have a AAA card they have a package, Train ride hotel and some meals, My wife just told me about it, Going to go look into it.....

    I am born and raised in So Cal and I have never been to the Grand Canyon.. I gotta get out more....

    Did the Williams/Grand Canyon thing, it was great. Upgrade to the lounge car, buffett, wine, entertainment, etc. Well worth it. But unless you want to hike into the canyon, one day there is plenty for lunch and walking. Also, one nite is more than enough in Williams, there is nothing to see there except the train station itself. For more sightseeing, its only a few miles to Sedona...
