can antone tell me is it ok to pull the themostats, cut out the pellet and spring, thereby leaving them just an open shell and put them back in? we used to do this on hot rod cars that ran hot...worked just beautiful
gave a restricter in the water jacket to slow down the flow of water, but made for a thermostat that was as open as could be...the motors in question are 2.4 ltr. mercs...i want to ensure as cool a running temp as possible

You can use the gasket and washer out of a 2.5 L sport-jet or email me and I'll send you some.
