If it is just a thousand miles why not drive it? Offer the other party gas money and see if they would meet you half way...I was willing to drive to El Paso to buy Placecraft20's boat...Would be a lot cheaper than shipping even with todays gas prices...

The one I am thinking of is 1700 miles away. It isn't just fuel, it is time off work, etc. Just isn't worth the expense to travel.

Works just like ebay. feedback system, personal service.
Sometimes you will catch someone at just the right time.
Also if you plan on a long drive, you can pick up some gas money by hauling an antique cross country.
Got a dirt bike from Co to Mn.
A 20' jet from Palm dessert to Mn.
Sent a 21' jet from Mn. to NC. Same shipper then picked up a 23' CC to go to Sweden.
All good experiences.
See if this link works for my shipment.
