I'm going to try my luck in the 9 sec. class....
First year racing, but I've attended the last 5 years. AS posted above, it's the best race of the year!

Number of Boats on Each Side , Shoes,
Life Jacket (Lifeline Style) , Throttle Return Spring,
Holding Rope Deflector, Seat Secured,
Fuel Tank Securely Fastened, Battery Secured,
Helmet Restraints, Paddle,
** OVERALL APPEARANCE OF BOAT WILL BE INSPECTED **
6:00 - 6:99
Boat and driver must be licensed to compete in no less than the 8:00 - 8:99 ¼ mile classes.
7:00 - 7:99
Boat and driver must be licensed to compete in no less than the 9:00 - 9:99 ¼ mile classes.
8:00 - 8:99
Boat and driver must have competed in no less than the 10:00 - 10:99 ¼ mile classes. No driver credentials will be required for this class.
9:00 - 9:99
Any boat and driver who compete in a class slower than 10:99 ¼ mile will be eligible for this class. No driver credentials will be required for this class.
** All boats and drivers have to attend at least one (1) sanctioned event during the current season to be eligible for SMOKIN’ IN THE COVE. Proof will be required.
** All boats competing in ODBA will be referred to Larry Rowe for Class Assignments.
** All boat utilizing safety cockpits will be required to have a canopy, seat belts, and Oxygen.
** You may not run if do not have seat belts or oxygen supply, if you have removed the canopy.
** No seat belts will be allowed in Non Safety Cockpit boats.
** Break away capsules will not be allowed.
V-Drives (8 Seconds or Quicker): Will have a Whirlaway, safety collar on shaft in front of strut with double prop nuts or castle nut with cotter pin.
Jets (7 Seconds or Quicker): Will have a ratchet or automatic pop off valve.
All Injected Boats: Must have a fuel shut off, which driver can actuate.
All Jets and V-Drives: Will have an appropriate flywheel guard and driver line cover, Jet boats using a solid splined shaft are exempt from the drive line cover, but must still have a flywheel cover.
All stock cast iron harmonic balances must have a plate, 3/8 aluminum or better bolted to the face of balancer to keep outer ring in place. A 360-degree shield would be preferred but is not mandatory. Any SFI approved can be run naked.
All Super-charged Boats utilizing alcohol will be required to have a blower restraining Device SFI 14-1 approved.
All Super -charged Boats using nitro-methane must use a blanket style blower restraint.
Certified Lifeline Style Jackets will be required in ALL classes, EXECPT 9:00-9:99
Blowout Pants will be required for 7:99 or quicker.
Helmet Restraints will be required for 8:99 and quicker.
