Im puzzled as well. I had a 91 650sx.. Modified (really fast and relaible)...It had all the custom stuff you can put on one...And I couldnt push it for over a grand in peak season. Ended up trading it for a beat to shit golf cart. Oh and I think they do 38mph stock. Mine did 50mph.
Because its STOCK! As soon as you put all that aftermarket bs on them, they are not reliable anymore.

Oh I agree that more people want stock motors that are almost 20 years old. Mine was very reliable and fired up everytime all the time.
Its just that Ive seen skis nicer than yours, and mine, that didnt sell for over a grand. There just not "in style" anymore. I just saw a bass ass 650 rebuilt stock motor and a Eddie Van Halen quitar paint job with stand, hydro turf mats, dual bilge pumps and lots of other goodies not even go for a grand. That thing was a perfect 10!
