This would be paid for with a tax levied on health insurance premiums you and I pay! So, the dems would bankrupt the free market health insurance system in order to "force" you to get on the gov't program.
Now, you may say to yourself, "this isn't communism..they're just trying to help average Americans"...well let's look at medicaire/medicaid.
Under these programs doctors haven't had a price increase since '01. Many doctors aren't accepting new gov't patients. Therefore denying benefits to the very people they're trying to "help".
When the gov't determines who gets what and sets the price; that is communism. Ask any immigrants. 165 russians die for every 100 born. If you are sick in Russia you die...unless you can buy your own.
This is what the dems would implement here 'cause this is the only country where communism hasn't failed...not for a lack of tryin'.
This week the Fed and other central banks have added some $Billions of your cheap money to the debt market to prevent investors from realizing the risks of their poor investment choices under the guise of keeping people from losing houses they couldn't afford in the first place.
Then there's restrictions on your rights as written in the Constitution...pick your favorite. Establishing rights that don't exist to cause and take political advantage of class, race, gender, insert "diversity" here. You want to unite...stand up for equal protection under the law. A constitutional right in black and white.
Since the '70s real taxes have increased by roughly 70% on families to pay for programs to subsidize destruction of the family...and we complain about increased bankruptcy.
Show me where any of the "social" programs have helped to unite, improve, or strengthen our country.
If we could return to a constitutional form of gov't...we'd put a bunch of lobbyists, lawyers, and bankers into the work force. No wonder they resist with such fervor!

Hospitals, and the doctors who operate these facilities are f.n thieves. Example from experience same doctor myself private insurance my ex Medicare. A full blood panel price. Private $180.00 Medicare $760.00.
As a result of the Republican Congress (and the drug lobby) Drug prices under Medicare are not negotiable. Example: Lipitor. Annual Medicare cost over $1,400.00. Annual cost Vet Administration $160. Medicare pays nearly 1000% more. The Democratic congress has been discussing a bill to eliminate fixed drug prices for Medicare and W has promised to Veto. I have a 60 year old friend, male non-smoker. His monthly non-group health insurance premium, $1,400.00.
The system is broken.

Despite a veto threat from President Bush, the U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation expanding the State Children's Health Insurance program (SCHIP) for low-income families.
The House voted 225-204, mostly along party-lines, for a bill that would increase the SCHIP program by an estimated $50 billion over five years, financed mainly by a tax increase on cigarettes and cuts to Medicare payouts to private health insurers. This expansion is expected to provide coverage for as many as 6 million children currently without health care.
In a July 18 statement, Bush said the proposals in Congress were too broad. "It was a program initially designed to help poor families afford health care for their children." Bush said. "Members of Congress have decided, however, to expand the program to include, in some cases, up to families earning $80,000 a year, which would cause people to drop their private insurance in order to be involved with a government insurance plan."
The Senate is expected to pass on a $35 billion companion bill that also would be financed by higher taxes on tobacco products.
