    i have a stock 454 and want to know if i have to run a marine fuelpump or can i run a aftermarket car fuel pump

    Depends.
    If the diaphram breaks, do you want gasoline to run out the weep hole into the bilge under your engine in order to make a nice, explosive vapor mixture just waiting to ignite while you never know it is happening?
    Would you rather have it run up a tube into the carburetor to just flood the engine and tell you you have a problem?
    Your call.
    Run the marine one.
