    I picked up a set of these heads today at a car swap. 500.00 and there ready to run. should I use these or sell em and get the aluminum pro comps I planned to buy myself for christmas?? I have a .030 454, descent hyd. cam with flat top pistons. hoping to get 450+ hp. thanks for any advice

    188 heads are good heads ... newer casting 990 heads ...

    check to see what the guide clearances are, hate to see you hang a valve and put a dent in an otherwise perfectlyy good piston.
    Others can give you the proper specs. It might also have bronze guide liners rather than solid guides.
