Thread: hook in hull

I have a 22ft modified V hull. I believe the previous owner let the boat sit on the trailer for a considerable amount of time hanging off of the trailer runners there by creating a hook in the bottom. The hook is as much as 1/4" a foot from the transom edge. A considerable amount of time an d money has been put into the power train and as you might imagine it runs faster but hits a wall short of its intended top speed.
Should I look to sand down the transom edge to level or fill in the hook and what materials would you recommend
Any info and advice would be greatly appreciated. Is there any technical info in print form that can be obtained for future reference.
Thank you for your consideration, Steve

You may already know this, but some cruisers have a hook there on purpose. Something you should check out before filling it in.
