    BP,
Whoever at NJBA that still believes that the red light will make a quicker et, has his head so far up his ass he can taste it. I would be the first to tell him so.
The best way to describe their Jacked Up reasoning to them is to go the other way and use a late light as an example.
ie- boat A runs 8.00 and cuts a 2 second light. Does this mean it would have been a 6.0 had he cut a perfect light? DUMBASS!!!
Oh I almost forgot, Merry Christmas everyone

willis, you know you get er done. but i do hope you take your time getting there. you don't need to set the world on fire on the first pass, or at the first race. be safe.
btw willis, dan's boat was/is a lot heavier than yours. a lot. just be careful with that thing...
    Thanks bp
We intend to take it veryslow.
I remember the first time I lost power and that was something to remember.
At the low 8's and hi 7's things can happen very quick

i got into a rather heated debate with an "old guard" person about a year and a half ago, right in my pit about that very same issue. his believed (and still believes, as far as i know) that the red light gave an advantage in et. this is a person, not part of our crowd, but that has been around dragboat racing for the better part of 30 years. no matter how hard i tried to explain, even draw how the timing system worked, he was adament that there was an et reduction with the red light. and i guess he had some other people convinced of it too, because the rule is still in the book.
If I think you are talking about what I think you are talking about ... then whoever the "old guard" person is, they are correct IMO ... there is a way to ET better with one's rope leaving experience, and I think you know how ... AND ... thats why you cannot receive a record on a red light ... but that is a conversation for another day ...

Brian, other than pushing yourself back further behind the rope, there is no way a red light is gonna help your et! If you know of a way, please tell us! The ET clock starts when you trip it. It can be way early or way late and make zero difference!
