If Gary was the unstoppable machine than he would not have smoked his v drive on the last lap (53) this is an endurance race so until you and your buddies can finish a race just keep talkin!He couldn't have finished 60 laps if he wanted to just like the rest of you dumb asses with v drives.Back when this was the 9 hour enduro outboards dominated the race and now the format was changed which helps you v drives out and you still can't win so its not the format its your junk you can't keep together and you blame it on everything else!

I was not aware that gary smoked his V-drive. I was pitting for him and went to his house for the after party. I never heard anything about the V-drive taking a dump on the last lap. Im not saying it didnt happen, because I dont know, but I am saying that he never mentioned it then.
I do agree that they should let the top 10 boats finish 60 laps or something to that effect. It would be nice to see more boats keep racing for 2nd, 3rd, etc.
I understand what people think...It is like "THEORY" and "Practice"...In theory, everyone shoudl run 60 laps...But, hey, once the winner has crossed the line, the patrol boats head back...boats are stopping...
AND PLEASE TRY NOT TO FORGET, The Blue Water Resort and Casino 300 was desigged to be a "FUN RUN"...Most of the prize money is paid to the classes, overall is "STATUS"...
We had 50 entires this year, 42 started, most thought, if they ran all day they could win...The handicap system was designed for the "LITTLE" guy. I have talked to just about everyone who ran this year, and they all plan to be back...
If the handicaps are wrong, we change them..No big deal...We had a FUN, SAFE RACE......Next year, I hope we have a "SENIOR" Class for those of us who are over 60!!!!
Last ADD; Pretend you are an offical....when the leader finishes, it is over...Hell, boat #500 could have run for three days before he got 60 laps in...but the cool thing is, boat #500's driver will be racing 45 SS in 2008!!! If you were an official how would you end the race???
I think 10 boats should cross the finish line before the race is declared over... if nothing else it would save a lot of arguing if there is somebody that didn't comply with the rules or a counting issue... at least there would be some solid info to have as a back up.
