Is It A 1967 Does It Float
it is a sanger and all u need is a motor and go it is set up for a bbc
why does he need a 67? Can you really tell the difference between a 67 and say a 69? He can have anything he wants.... just so it looks correct.
that is what i was going to say how can u tell the year for sure when there is no numbers on the back right corner hehehehe
Not so fast now, there just may be some I.D.#s on that boat.
We originally thought my '67 Sanger Flatty had no I.D.#s until one day I did a vigorous cleaning (Brake-Kleen & Simple Green) on the inside of the transom. Lo and behold, once the 40 year old grime was removed down to the wood & fiberglass, there is a 5-digit serial# "burned/imprinted" into the wood and below the fiberglass - directly behind the rudder steering quadrant. Once clean, the 1" tall numbers are easy to read. (at least on mine)
i have a 67 kurtis that i am rebuilding. i should be done with the boat in 2 motnhs. i have done everything right with this boat. when the boat is done ill sell it for $34,000
I have a metal plate on my 68 Stevens with a serial number also. But you can't identify what a boat is by those old numbers. Unless you have the manufacturer's list of assigned serial numbers. Even then the number you see might have been assigned by a state at the time of registration. But to someone looking at the boat they can't tell a 67 from a 68 or 69 unless there was some specific change made that year and then they would have to be a flatbottom expert of some sort.
