Well I sent out a few pieces of my project to get them anodized purple...I sent the cast timing chain cover and it looks horrible.....The other pieces for the air shift set up was polished 6061 and it turned out very nice...From what I have seen on all the parts the powder looks way better than anodized. I have not sent the rails or engine mounts and all of the other parts made out of 6061 down yet.........I don't know if I want to powder or ano the rest...
Does anyone know the best place to go??? I have over 22k in the engine and don't want a bad job done on the parts......who would be the best and which way should I go. It's a sanger true flat that I plant to run as a lake hot rod for about a year or two..at the most...then the engine will go in a 501 hydro..............I need some help here......thanks

Anything that is cast, will not anodize nice. anything that has been welded will have a slightly different color at the weld. Different alloys will also have different shades. We use P.K. Selective. If the material is a good clean alloy like 6061 t-6 or 7075, than it is unbeatable. Castings should always be polished. Powdercoating is just a thick paint job. there are some applications that powdercoating is good for, like covering old parts that just wont clean up. I may have spoken to you on the phone, and if you would like to come by, we can steer you down the right road so that you waste any more money. Engine parts that are aluminum should never be coated or chromed. they need to breath, to cool and disapate. Joe

You need to have a good polish job on the parts, and take them to an anodizer that knows how to prep the stuff properly
