My father and I bought our first jet boat, 73 Sleekcraft Monterry. The boat already had a place diverter installed, with a manual lever on floor. Well, it just doesn't throw the roost like we thought... I had to install a new cable, so i know it is getting maxium travel. Anybody have any guesses?? It seems like the roost only goes about 8-10' high.

can you take a picture of the pump/diverter to post? 1 from the back and 1 from the side would be good.

No problem, i just have to get over to my Dads shop where we keep the boat indoors. I should be able to get a pic posted tomarrow or wend. I belive the pump is a jacuzzi YJ.

From what I've read here, a "stock" diverter doesn't throw a very high roost.... A buddy of mine has a Jacuzzi with a diverter & it seems to throw a decent tail. I'll get him to chime in & give you the details on it.
A bigass roost doesn't do anything performancewise, but they do look pretty cool..... :crossx:

Make sure the cable is adjusted so you get MAX upward angle. I did this by disconnecting the cable at the diverter and then put something under it to hold it to its MAX up angle. Then make sure the diverter control handle is in the MAX up postition and then install and adjust the cable without moving the diverter down at all.

After installing a diverter on the Sanger I wasn't happy with the tail either. So I installed a 4 degree wedge and a droop snoot and it certainly did the job.
The boat actually goes slower when throwing the monster roost but it looks cool as hell.

73 Sleekcraft we have a Monterey here as well it has a Wj jacuzzi as I suspect does yours We find on WJs that the jets will likely benfit from a wedge between the bowl and nozzle adaptor to help your roost Tom

I found that the best way to improve roost is to throw a couple hundred more horsepower at it.
