Congrats! Seems there is a lot of filming going on here in "Hollywood South" the past few years. Glad to see another local Louisianian on the boards

Hey Jay for speed,What area do You live in.I am from the New Orleans area.I am from Chalmette and do'nt say it (Chalmation)!
I heard that there was not much left to St Bernard Parrish.
I live in Las Vegas Now,for about 6 years.I still have one sister that still lives in the Uptown area.
Where do You run Your Jet Boat? Any way good tosee some one from Home on here, and I am sorry for jacking the thread,,,,Hal
I live in Ponchatoula, but i worked in St. Bernard after the storm. It by far got the worst. 99.9% of the homes had water in them, some a couple feet, most, over the rooftop. It was a strange sight seeing entire neighborhoods deserted. Be glad you moved. The chalmations are tough though, they are coming back strong!!!

Hi Hal, I live in Metairie and work in New Orleans east. My boat isn't finished yet so I haven't had it out in the water. But, we ran my buddy's Southwind out in Lake Ponchartrain on calm days, Bayou Bienvanue and the Industrial canal. You know how it is the normal around here is a shrimp boat, flatboat, airboat, or bay boat. When you roll by in a jetboat, people don't know what to think....
Like airboater67 says, Chalmette is coming back pretty strong, but its a mere shadow of what it was before the storm. My grandmother lived off of Jean Lafitte near the civic center. Her house went completely underwater. There was a house across the street that was a 2 story. That house had 3 feet of water in the second story. The place looked like a 3rd world country after a nuclear war. But, you know how tenacious Chalmations are. A lot of our customers at my dealership are Chalmations as well as a lot of people that I work with are from Chalmette also. They ones that moved back have worked so hard to get things back in order. Some areas look back to normal while others still look like a ghost town.
I just took my first trip out to Vegas this past 4th of July. Man, what a town! We had a blast, we partied and didn't sleep for 3 days straight. I thought NOLA was a party town, but Vegas is right up there too. I'll have to PM you next time I'm out that way. We'll have to hit some casinos wearing some "Chalmette Nikes" (white shrimp boots)

Airboater67, where do you usually run? Once I get my heap running, I'll have to make a road trip and meet up with you.
