Sorry for the camera phone pics, I did not have my camera today.
Ok, I was playing around today, prepping for my fuel rails I am going to use machine Ross Machine stock. This will be for my BBC EFI 8-71 blown project. I wanted to practice cutting the O-ring boss (-10AN Oring), so I found a piece of round stock and drilled it out to 3/4". I then tooled up the O-ring boss cutter. This tool is NOT CHEAP (got from MSC). This tool reams out to 13/16" (for the tap) and also cuts the correct angle and depth for the O-ring seat. I drilled the stock originally to 3/4" and let the reamer of the tool cut the rest for the tap. After the o-ring boss is cut I then tapped it for the -10an threads. It came out great, nice and smooth surface for the o-ring to seal and seat. I did not have an O-ring -10AN fuel rail fitting, but a regular -10an which screwed in nice and smooth.
I could have used a boring bar and set the compound angle on the lathe to cut the o-ring surface, but I did not want to take the chance of the o-ring not sealing because of an error in the angle. After all we all know fuel leaks are a no no. So next time I will be using the Ross Machine D-shapped fuel rails. I hope they fit in my 3 jaw chuck, otherwise I need to get a 4 jaw chuck. Ah, it's only more tools, we all love tools.

Ross machine has that tool 14mm injector pocket tool. I have it and it works great. I did some practice holes for bosch style injector to get the depth and materail thickness for pintle stickout I need when I make my bugcatcher adapter plate for EFI. The tool will do the fuel rail side as well as the injector pintle side.
