Hull id

[Makaira]

From what I know this is a '76 makai, or so the sticker on the boat says. My title says '76 makaira. I am hoping someone has this hull or knows something about it, I cant find any info. on it. It is not a full stringer, it has a berkeley12JE-A pump, is there any easy way to check if a pump needs to be rebuilt?

Can you read the hull ID# on the transom?
The hull id is MBK8J0500276, the boat is 18ft if that matters, I believe its a kona, the pedal says kona, but i cant seem to find any boat under the same makai name.

I dont think it is a similar boat, if you look at this pic you can see the corners by the transom are more round, where the apache is square. but thanks for the help, i really like your motor arrangement too

That Hull is a Kona "Makai".
Kona is the manufacturer and Maki is the model.
It is Kona's version of a buble deck.

The only thing that gets me is that He said that it is a 1976 hull and the MIC info that Cas pulled up with the Numbers ,said that they were in buissiness in 1985 and out of buissiness in 1991.
Also the rear of the deck looks alitle difrent than the brochure.

Makaira's boat is different where the transom rolls to the inside of the boat, kinda like a sanger or rogers, where the Kona's transom rolls to an actual splash guard in the mold of the hull. (Vertical dam)
from the pics above it looks like they are different, but, whos to say that they are showing the actual Kona Makai, so i guess i am totaly confused now! lol
I dig on the console guage cluster though!
