No, polished heads have nothing to do with whether or not you're running alcohol. Polished (we actually call it 'ported') runners in cylinder heads actually improve the flow into the cylinder.
Im doing another rebuild and wanted to get some insite from other JETBOATERS..
My concerns are the heads are polished slightly (not mirror finish) will this affect gas flow....I have 26 gallons I usually run 10-12 gallons of 101 and top it of with 91...there are times when all I can use is 91..
will this be a issue..
If the heads are polished is that for running ACOHOL?

You have a mouse in your pocket? Port and polished are 2 different things.
I have polished heads. Mine are polished in the combustion chamber, But I would prefer and cnc job on any head.
Depends where they're polished.
If they're polished in the combustion chamber, that helps alot with detonation.
If they're polished in the intake runner, usually it doesn't help with fuel atomizing correctly.
If they're polished in the exhaust, that is usually a good thing.
So where are they polished?
