Ok my wife asked what Amp I would like for the boat, I am not up on stereo equipment so I need a little help. Wanting to re do my stock system what would be a good amp and speakers to start with, something that stays cool in the heat. Just doing the amp and speaker right now and would like to stay with the 6.5 size speakers. My head unit is a Sony Xpod 45w x 4 should that be changed as well?.

How much do you or your wife want to spend? Do you have a ball park budget? How many speakers do you want to run?

I'd consider the RF stuff that phebus is selling... can't go wrong at 350.00 for BOTH amps...

Doean't sound like you'll over drive the amps at this point. You can add fans with the money you save... He probably paid a bout 900.00 for the pair...

I bought the boat used, and the stereo system was already installed, but I have the reciept of what was paid for the components.
The system was purchased at Al & Ed's Autosound in 2002, and the price for the Rockford Fosgate bd1500 was $999.99, and the price for the Rockford Fosgate 800.4 was &499.99.
So, thats $1500.00 worth of amps (original purchase price).
    OUCH!!!
