Okmulgee Jet/ V-drive Bash . . . . Need a name, date, and some more boats ! !

- - - - DATE NOW SET, JUNE 24 AND 25 - - - - We ARE having another get together this year and it will be more planned out, and bigger this year. I was happy with last years turnout for being the first one and i have some pics to post finnaly. There are about 10-15 jets that frequent the lake here, but even getting them all together on the same day is a big chore. So we need some input on a Date that works good for you that are interested in coming AND THAT INCLUDEDS SOME OF YOU TEXANS ! ! ! ! Thats right, we need some of you texans to come up and grace us with your presents. And for some of you that wannna be involved, we can use some help and help with an official name b/c if its gonna be annuall we need to stick with the same name. Well here are some pics so you can kinda see what went down last year and tell a little about the lake. . .

All these pics are at the first ramp which is the main ramp, it is never really that crowded, and this is the main swimming area you can see hear, there are usually more people swimming, the next pics are of the cove we usually hang in, there is also a ramp over there but not paved so you have your choice, its only about 1/2 to 3/4 mile around to the cove we use, and the hole lake is prolly about 3 miles. The lake grass and rocks have been cleaned up since the last year here in the cove pics. With the water going down its great cleaning up the ramp and coves . . .

All these pics were really early around 10 AM the sat. last years, so more boats came I just cant get those pics to load. The last two pics here are one heading into the cove and the other is the only pic that would load from the kinda "boat show" we had when we all pulled out b/c of the rain. This boat was my first jet, i redid everthing with new and then realized i needed a v-drive, i heard that its coming out this year with an all new blown small block

Sure would like too, you stood us up last year with some bogus asscuse, comon out and bring some of the texans you talk to ! ! !
Oh yeah guys we have plenty of place to camp at lake houses in the cove or you can get a really nice camp site there in one of the three areas of the lake camping, there will be a barbque again, and plenty of good times b/c the lake patrol is all really cool to us and welcome us to their lake, no major stink about noise, racing, etc. Anybody get a ticket last year ? ? ? NO ! ! ! !

There are a bunch of us who have Taylor jets in the area that might be able to show up if it does not conflict with our get together. We currently have our 2nd. Broken Bow Bash set up for June 15-18. on lake Broken Bow. We will have about 15-20 Taylor Jets that will be there from all around this area.

Just looking at the calender, Bricktown being june 17 (thats what i got) the weekend before or after is pretty much out, Right ? ? ? So now were into july, which the first weekend is two days before 4th of july, which would be awesome everybody together for a preholiday gettogether and also b/c the lake isnt never really crowded here for the holidays, then we have races back to back on the 8th of july and the 15th of july, so that leaves july 22 which seems like pretty close to the middle of summer around here which would be smart to, Some of the others here said "lets have it before august" Anything else on the calender for july 1 & 2 or July 22 and 23 ? ? ? ?
Perry in your honor we could have it on JUNE 24 ! ! ! !

i'm in, has a date been set? i've gotta taylor jet boat club meet on the 15th-18th of june but other than those dates ill be there. i herd about last yrs. meet the week before and couldn't get loose here to go. i want to go to 3 meets this season and this will make 3 for me.will someone pm me a date when its decided?

Well some of us got together this weekend and came up with the definate date of June 24 and 25. Im sure several will be arriving friday night which will be cool, and we will have an agenda and some type of schedule to come, this once again will be a laid back, free atmosphere, and it will be lax as far a rules on the lake. Last year my boat happened to break down (first time for everything), and it rained a bit in the afternoon, but im sure we will be tearing up the lake and make some dueling speed exhibitions outta the cove pictured. Alotta landscaping cleanup has been done and will continue to be done up until time to help accomadate the crowd expected. I am going to make up some flyers and begin to hand out at carshows/swapmeets, and even a little around the auto shops in the area and if anyone else is interested spreading the word let me know and i can get you some copies of the flyers, I think one thing that would be cool is an advertised free "boat show" on the flyer so that some of the area auto hotrodders could cruise up lake side and check out the boats, and kinda the sport in general. Any ideas are welcome/appriaciated, and I would like to see some of you texans up here, so Help us get the word out by posting it on the texas boards that we can only lurk in ! ! !
