Lake Mojave

Question for anybody that has been to Lake Mojave in the last week or two.
How is the launch ramp @ Katherines? I saw that the lake is 13 feet down this month.
My wife and I are going out this weekend to run the boat and just want to keep it in Lake Mojave, someone was telling me that you have a drop off at the ramp, that sounds strange. I have been out to Mojave in late Nov (last year) and have not had any problems, any input would be great, thanks!

I was at Willow Beach over Turkey day, water was low But didn't seem to be a problem there!
