Whats a stringer kit? newby here
A stringer kit is---
A kit that usally consists of Two L shaped Aluminum Rails ,That you bolt up to the stringers with thru bolts and big aluminum washers. What it does is spreads the load over more area. Making the hull a bit stronger ,Or I should say the stringers a bit stronger, Whatever! In my Eliminator jet I put rails in it they are 8ft in lenght this really stiffend up the hole boat. Now when I hit some little waves the boat does not act like JELLO on the water.
Here are a couple of pics that should give you an idea of what a "stringer kit", also called a "rail mount kit" looks like. Pics are of HBJets boat. They are not as long as Clown mentioned, but length is variable depending on space available.
By the way, if you were thinking you could use the Olds bellhousing and just get a new Chevy front plate, it wont work. Different bellhousing bolt pattern.
