Just as long as it sucks in water and spits it out to propel. Not talking about a jet engine on a boat wink
    Anyone know?

I'm not sure what the fastest jet is, but Keith Zellmer of Z-Axis Racing held these records on gas in the last couple of years:
International Hot Boat Association (IHBA) Records
IHBA Division 1 Pro Gas Jet E.T. record holder at 7.81 seconds
IHBA Division 1 Pro Gas Jet MPH record holder at 133.08 mph
IHBA Division 2 Pro Gas Jet E.T. record holder at 8.17 seconds
IHBA Division 2 Pro Gas Jet MPH record holder at 133.08 mph
National Jet Boat Association (NJBA) Records
NJBA Pro Gas Jet E.T. record holder at 7.72 seconds
NJBA Pro Gas Jet MPH record holder at 133.67 mph
I'm sure that there are some much higher numbers for the fuel guys, but these numbers are pretty impressive! I'd be happy with them!!!

I believe Tim Place (Placecraft) Still holds the fuel record at 176mph in the 1/4. I know that the class no longer exists but I think the record is till the one to beat.

These are the listing that I found for the roundyrounds.
    93.46 MPH
    Class 01410 - Sunday, July 27, 1986 Record Type 5 MI/3 LAP
Location TUMWATER, WA Driver JOHN N. FOX Owner JOHN N. FOX
Boat DO RUN RUN Hull Type ROGERS Engine CHEVROLET
    102.32 MPH
Class 02210 - EJ Saturday, November 29, 1980 Record Type KILO
Location PARKER, AZ Driver WAYNE NELSON Owner WAYNE NELSON
Boat COLD SWEAT Hull Type ELIMINATOR Engine CHEVROLET
    Those are APBA records.
This is the one that took the comp jet kilo record away from my boat.
    It is a UIM record.
    3324 14/10/95 J.FOX USA Comp Jet / Speed 111,32
It took a Crusader tunnel to beat my v bottom Liberty (it had a 109.+ mph average).
Cyclone.....you see that top one right!
78Eliminator, I don't think the second one is a tunnel, but it's still fast.
    Have at it! Mike

The PGJ records listed above are still in effect, except for division 2 et. that record was broken last year at Waco by head over heels, and is now 7.96.
    IHBA blown gas jet records belong to Dan Nelson;
    138.62 mph
    7.63 et
The current IHBA Top Fuel Jet record belongs to.... Shannon Stewart in Blown Fever (before Cal Quake), with both records set at Firebird, 11/95.
    161.68 mph
    7.13 et

Dan Nelson (Jett Performance Marine) is the one who worked on my pump. I wonder if his ET would be better if he detailed his DPS inducer?

absolutely. and you can tell him i said that.
another way he could improve his et would be to go get his boat back and race it.
and another thing; if he woulda just leaned it out a little bit.....

That's going to be a little tough considering he sold his race hull and bought a Placecraft deckboat. From what I understand he dropped one of his nasty blown injection motors in it. There's nothing like a triple-digit family jet boat.

    Here it is....
    FACTS
In the 90's there were six blown fuel jet boats competing for the title of the world's fastest and quickest jets. ALL the boat were using hydraulic Place Diverter trim systems. The title was won by "Going Places II",
a Placecraft hull which presently holds the world E.T. (6.69) and 1/4 mile speed record with runs over 170 MPH.

... I know that the class no longer exists ...Where did it go? Did it just dry up due to a lack of competitors?
