well, the block in the nephews boat that he just bought wasn't winterized,so,guess what,cracked block,good news is we have a backup 455 to put in so that is tomorrows project. my question is does anyone have a diagram or photos of how to run the water coming from the pump. he has hardin thru hull exhaust. help is greatly apprecieated....

You can cut in where the valve is (blue line from the pump in the drawing). It's the same thing as when the water is being supplied from the pump, but you use the hose instead. Don't apply too much pressure though. Around 10-15 lbs should be plenty. Probably a quarter turn or so on the spigget. The motor should be started prior to turning on the hose, and when shutting down, turn the water off first, then shut off the motor. Just to be on the safe side.
I wouldn't run it too long with the pump connected and no water going through it. A minute or two should be o.k. I usually won't run mine for more than a few seconds, and for that you don't need the hose.
