The Lake, and the business it generates is why Lake Havasu City exists today I'll agree with that. I stay at home on busy weekends like that to avoid traffic and the huge crowds at the lake It's no place for my kids to be ,but on regular weekends it's fine I've never had a problem exept for loud music in the channel it's a social place and the music should be kept to a minumum ,I like loud music to but not when im talking to someone and some guy pulls up next to me or even 5 spots over and you can't even here your self think.

Maybe restricting the PWC's to certain areas of the lake/river where they can't cause as much trouble - like Castaic does. Keep 'em in a pen! I dont agree with this you can have idiots on pwcs, hot rod boats,or 25ft plus boats.I'd rather have a person near me on a pwc whos is driving straight and in control than a big cat who is all over the water.(or vice versa).I have pretty much got over the discrimination of either pwcs, bayliner type boats, etc.(even though i dont own either)Idiots come in all shapes, sizes and forms and are the ones who ruin it for everyone else.Look at what has happened to glamis! The lake is for everyone too enjoy and if you cause trouble you are the prblem(no matter what you drive or operate)
I have quit going to havasu abot 6 years ago on three day weekends i got tired of the waits at the ramp, the crowds getting bigger, and the rough water for my old jet boat.

    Goodtime$
I remember when my dad, uncle and everyone would come up to havasu when the water was low and ski all day, no jet skiis and now idiots have ruined it. It used to be flattys and fisherman, the big cats are a sight to see and would be a lot of fun to have. But is unsafe sometimes and the jet skiis have gotta go, for safety and pollution reasons.
protect and conserve the natural waterways we still have left, or else we will be scrubbing salt water off our boston whalers.

I have owned my 21’ 1979 Sleek that I bought and paid for at 25 for 2 years. After only been to the river 3 times. I have to speak up for my generation.
2002 Spring Break at Park Moabi
Hung out and the sand bar, nudity yes, beer, yes, good people hanging out cutting lose yes. I was a little pissed that people can't take it upon themselves to put their trash back in their boats. (look at our roads what are you going to do???)
I did see a fairly good amount of boat patrols.
One girl passed out at the sand bar and was carried back to her boat. Partying hard but over did it. Same thing happens at nightclubs and bars across the country.
Shit being in the military it was nice to cut loose. Had a blast, made me go out and buy my boat two months later..
    2002 Parker Strip Memorial Weekend
New to my boat, didn't run very well, during the day I drank lots of water and soda. Big boats left a lot of chop. It was hard to run my boat wide open so I took it slow. (Responsibility)
At night I started drinking to catch up to the others that I taxied around that day.
One of the best times I have had in a long time.
There was some nudity. Partying at the sandbar down by the Casino had the typical nudity not too shabby. Saw a few boat cops tell women to keep their clothes on. Still Good times.
    2003 Macintyre Memorial Weekend.
Dead! Finally got the boat running great, expecting the same wild partying I had seen in the other two places. Nothing, hardly any boats on the river and was able to really open her up. No nudity at all. Shit the campground was dead at 10 pm. Ended up going to bed early and had a really relaxing trip.
Ok now to my point. I have always heard how fun and wild partying at the river/lake is. After MTV spring break it was no longer a secret to those with no boating interests also.
Now once again I see the generation in front of me determining what is right and wrong. After they were the ones that lived the life and are now flipping sides to place bans on everything they can. WTF?
This is my stand, I am sorry but you all should have led by example. What’s the saying “If the music is too loud your too old?” Everyone acts like no one was killed by drunk boaters back in the 70's.. I'm sorry but I can't stand this hypocritical outlook from the government and politicians and then have to hear it from our piers. Now that they have had their fun the party is over???? I call B.S. if you want a mellow time during big weekends head south there’s more river for you can piss in.
Sorry if I offend anyone by this post, I am a responsible boater that just wants to have a good time while I’m still young enough to party. As for the residents of Havasu I bet your schools your kids go too have pretty nice computer and supplies. If not go bitch to your congressman about where the hell the revenue the boating industry brings in goes.

The people going to the river and the attitude has changed. Growing up when ever any one broke down every one was willing to help, wether it was towing, tools or advice. Now people just haul ass buy at 100mph and never think about stopping. I would agree with some of the other posts saying that people did die at the river. When ever you have high powered boats and alcohol there is going to be problems. But lets not rush to ban anything. And as far as nudity. If you don't want your kids seeing topless girls DON'T take them. I grew up on the river never seeing a girl wear a top. It was the norm. But we all need to stop and remember some people live here and to treat the place with respect. The more problems the more the cops are going to crack down on everything.

It is not the boats, pwc or other mechanical types of equipment. It is stupid people acting like assholes that trash our lakes and beaches. I live in Huntington Beach and Boat in Havasu and see the same behavior over the holidays at both locations. If the stupid people continue the behavior we all will pay the price of closed and restricted boating areas.
    Stupid People are the problem!!!!!!!

I know most of us like havasu on the hoiliday weekends because of the three day weekends.but what do they do back east say the lake of the ozarks or in minisota the land of 10.000 lakes.i would think they have some of the same problems there as here.
