Yep,,, I was topping off the gas with Blitz Brand Gas can and the spout (donkey dick) dislodged from the container and went 2' down the filler neck into the tank.
This is the Blitz cas container with the 6" long, 5/8" spout that slides back into the container.
The spout is held on with friction,,, it doesn't have a lip on the end of it so this could happen to you.
I was lucky, I have easy access to my sending unit on top of the tank,, removed it and got the spout (Donkey Dick) out with a flexable Grabber (OSH Hardware $2.99).
I know a lot on this board top off their tanks with gas containers to avoid the gas lines and high prices near boating venues.
So I suggest if you have the Blitz style container, get rid of it because you may not have as easy access to your tank as I did.
