My wife and I are going tomorrow, and possibly back on Saturday. We are purchasing a new boat for next year, and it sure beats driving all over the West Coast finalizing our decision on what exactly we want. I realize not all the dealers we are considering will be at Long Beach, but by looking at the exhibitor list, it does knock out quite a few.
Who knows, we might just be getting a boat tomorrow!

Last time I went to this boat show, it sucked. Not as many of the custom boat companies were out there. Waste of money to me. I don't know if it has changed since. Lotta of the larger production boats, yachts etc. out there.

In the past I would have said it was not worth going to, HOWEVER,,,,,, idea
The "WORLDS" (waterski championships) are on in Long Beach!! Skiers from around the World will be here. I think that might add to the Boob....Boat Show.

A quick list of exhibitors include:
    Advantage
    Eliminator
    Essex
    Force
    Hallett
    Laser
    Ultra
That really helps me in my shopping. No, it's not all the manufacturers I'm considering, but it is enough to get me there.

Back from the boat show. By far the nicest boat we found that suits our needs is the Hallett 240. It has an 8 1/2' beam that extends well up into the bow, making it a very roomy boat with lots of storage. Rigging was immaculate, and just a very clean nice boat. It might not be the sleekest fastest hull, but the entire package seemed very nice.
If anyone here on the boards has one, I would appreciate any and all comments.
The other boat we really liked, was the Ultra 247XS. We didn't like it quite as much as the Hallett, but it was less expensive, and still very nice. I just liked the Hallett more, as it was the "biggest" 24' boat I've ever been on.
Again, any comment on theese boats would be great.
Thanks, and I will post some pictures of the Hallett later.
